Services

in home euthanasiaTransitions was established by Dr. Melissa Vollaire to provide humane and compassionate in home euthanasia for pets and their families in the comfort of their own homes.

At Transitions, we understand that when we make a pet a part of our family, there often comes a time when euthanasia is a decision that we must make for our beloved friend. We are committed to making this difficult time as peaceful and comfortable as possible.
Our goal is to help each animal, and their families, through in home euthanasia in an environment that is safe, loving, and comfortable.

Our services include:

  • Discussion of the euthanasia procedure with the family, addressing any questions or concerns you may have, and completing a small amount of paperwork. The consent form can be filled out ahead of time by downloading it here.
  • Administration of a heavy sedative plus a pain medication to allow your pet to relax into a deep sedation in about 5-10 minutes.
  • Placement of an intravenous catheter after your pet is heavily sedated. Then we will administer an IV injection of an anesthetic, and when the family is ready, the final medication is given.
  • Fee- $275 for the in-home euthanasia visit.
    * Depending on your location, and size of your pet, an additional $25-$100 fee may apply.
    * Individual and group cremation is available at an additional cost provided by Lasting Paws Pet Memorial Service.
